Tell St. Paul Public Schools: Take Action to Close the Literacy Gap
Reading is a fundamental skill students need in order to be successful within the classroom and beyond. However, the scary thing is that less than 30% of Black, Latinx, Asian, and Indigenous students in Saint Paul Public Schools are reading at grade level -- while that number jumps to over 70% for white students.
Demand that Saint Paul Superintendent Joe Gothard and the Saint Paul School Board make closing the literacy gap a priority in their next strategic plan! Let's make students of color and their reading an urgent focus for this school district.
Then, join us on April 24th at the Saint Paul Public School Board meeting as we deliver our petition and provide public comment on the importance of focusing on the literacy crisis for students of color in Saint Paul Public Schools.
